Welp, I'm back from my 7-day cruise and am looking forward to doing a write-up of what I saw in St Martin and St Thomas' tourist traps--er, shopping arcades.
..just as soon as I get over the rum overdose and can decipher my notes, which appear to be written in the language of Bacardeeze.

My sister got hosed on a bracelet she bought in Aruba.
They promised a no problem return policy through their New York office. Trouble is that obviously nobody at the NY office new about it.

I can't emphasize enough...when island shopping..it's buyer beware.
I deal with at least one consumer complaint a week regarding jewelry quality, misrepresentation, or pricing. That's not to say that all island jewelry stores are guilty of this...some are and some are not. The problem stores keep showing up on my radar screen. They also make the customer jump through hoops to get a refund. Their aim is to frustrate them so much that they'll just give up and drop the complaint. Just my observations...I could be wrong.
