help please

I been dating the same lady for the last 3 years and I decided she is the one. I want to propose to her soon and I have most of the proposal figured out. The only thing I am missing is the ring.

I been doing a lot of research online about buying a ring and it all comes down to one of two things: do I buy it online or do I go to a retail store. :confused:

Money is not the issue but so is quality, service and warranty. I read a couple of sites like this one (http://www.americangemsociety.org) and they recommend not to buy it online. What do you think about it?

Help guys I dont know what to do!!

Where are you located? Are there a good selection of jewelry stores in your area?

Online is a good option if you deal with a reputable seller and have a way to get the item you buy appraised locally.
