Below you will see a picture of a hand. Notice that the skin had grown over the ring. The pic on the right is the xray which shows the metal ring encased in the womans skin.

Just one to ponder......

I thought some of the customers I had seen with a ring 2 sizes too small were bad...

It's all about finding "a happy medium." It's not practical to size and re-size a ring with the changes in temperature. In the cold weather, a ring slides off easily. In the summer, it's usually a struggle from the heat. My rule is "there should always be a little resistance going over the knuckle."

(P.S. Years ago I would cut the ring off anyone's finger at no charge...
now most stores won't do it because of our lawsuit happy society if someone gets accidentally cut.)

I have had customers come in with rings so tight I would have to use my bench saw. I just released the blade, slid the #01 or whatever upside down under the ring, lock it back in the saw, and saw through it.
A regular ring cutter wouldn't slip under it.
DISCLAIMER: I no longer remove any rings except my own.

We've stopped taking off rings as well.. If it won't come off with a little squit of lubrcant, we send them to the ER to have it cut off.. Absolutely not worth the risk of a lawsuit these days for trying to be helpful..

I can't even imagine anyone suing over cutting off a ring. They ASKED you to cut it off, whats the big problem with this?
