Fondation de la Haute Horlogerie launches fine-watchmaking reference site

SEPTEMBER 25, 2006 - Geneva -- The Fondation de la Haute Horlogerie has launched www.hautehorlogerie.org, a Web site dedicated to fine-watch connoisseurs, from retailers to collectors.
The site offers information about the past 700 years of fine-watchmaking, with portraits of famous watchmakers, more than 1,000 images, more than 400 illustrated definitions of technical terms, education about watch mechanisms and complications, and expert advice.
Thematic virtual exhibitions, in-depth articles and 11 video documentaries about the masters of fine-watchmaking will also appear on the site.
Founded in 2005, the Fondation de la Haute Horlogerie aims to unite stakeholders and promote the values of mechanical and technical fine-watchmaking.
