Can someone help me?
I have found a diamond (marquise) its measurements are 9.2x5.2x3.5
Can anyone PLEASE give me some idea of what carat this would be?
Thanks!!! :)

I'm going to take a wild guess and say it's in the 3/4ct range.. I could be off a few points in either direction since I don't normally convert stones from measurements to ct.. I just set them ;)

Perhaps one of the diamond vendors or appraisers could answer this more accurately..

GIA's weight estimation formula is:

length x width x depth x adjustment factor x weight adjustment

the adjustment factor depends on the ratio of the stone, this marq would have a ratio of about 1.77:1 which puts it in between the 1.50:1 and 2.00:1 ratios so I am going to use an adjustment fator in between the two of .0057. Now since I don't know anything about the girdle of the stone I'm just going to skip the part with the weight adjustment and risk being off acouple of points.

9.2 x 5.2 x 3.5 x .0057 = .954408

So my guess is approx .95 ct
