While watching some of the video coming out of New Orleans, I noticed they were shooting in front of the location where my old Zales store used to be on Canal street, then did a slow drive-by of the area.
The number of broken windows by entranceways was truly a sight to behold, and got me to thinking: there were a great many old-line antique and vintage jewelry operations on Canal and Royale in that area. Stores like Coleman Adler, Hausmann (which should be known as Baily Banks and Biddle now) and so on.
I can stone cold guarantee that all of them have been looted to the bare walls by now.
Many probably carry Jewelers Mutual and/or similar insurance.
Now, factor in all the other operations throughout that region affected by the hurricane.
Think this will be a bad year for JM?
