I am looking for an engagement ring. I am going nuts trying to find a reputable jeweler in the Diamond District in New York City.
These are the specifications of what I am trying to purchase:
pear, .50-.80, VS1, G(1), Class II, GIA, natural
I'd like to have a three-stone setting. Maybe .25 pear sides set in 950 platinum or 18K white gold. I have read that platinum loses its luster over time. Is is better to go with 18K white gold. My ladyfreind says that 18K white gols is too soft and bends. Maybe the ring she showed me was not what she thinks that it is.
Anyway, anyone have any sugesttions about bonded jewelers on W 47th Street in NYC? Or anywhere in NYC?
