From InStore Magazine's May 2005 Issue just hitting my desk:

"Meanwhile. diamonds are carbon-dated at 3.4 billion years old."

from Rare Earth II, Shane Decker's regular column in the magazine.

Say WHAT????!

Does no one at InStore fact-check this stuff before it hits print? Carbon-dating is used on organic or formerly organic materials, usually of recent manufacture. Inorganics such as diamond can't be carbon dated.

Another black eye for the industry when someone parrots Decker and the customer has as much knowledge as a high-school graduate and picks up on this erroneous info as fast as I did.
