This often will cause confusion for new diamond buyers. They seem to think that that when told by a seller that they will show them their tray of fancy cut diamonds that they are in some way different.
The definition of a fancy cut diamond is simply a shape of diamond cutting other than the round brilliant or single cut. Fancy cuts include the marquise, emerald cut, heart shape, pear shape, keystone, half moon, kite, triangle, and many others. Also called the ?fancy-shaped? diamond or ?modern cut.?
